ARTIST

Straft, founded by Tamaki Ishii and Kazuma Yamagami, works with rice straw, a material rooted in Japanese tradition. Using handwoven straw from rice harvesting, they reinterpret traditional techniques through a contemporary approach.

Their objects carry an attentiveness to material and craft, exploring the relationship between nature, use, and form. Defined by composure, precision, and sensitivity, the work highlights the inherent qualities of the material.
