Tue Gram is a furniture designer based in Aarhus, working with wood and a commitment to lasting design. Guided by clarity in form, material, and construction, his practice draws on both Scandinavian and Japanese traditions. 

Developed in Tue Gram’s workshop on Mols, Ma reduces the object to its essence, where form emerges through absence and function resides in the space between the elements. 

Wood has been a constant presence throughout his life, shaping an approach defined by restraint, precision, and careful craftsmanship. 

Trivets don’t have to be trivial, if you ask Tue Gram. His wise and philosophical take, despite his young age, becomes poetic yet slightly gloomy. “Ma exists in the air in-between the two wooden sticks. Without that space, the object has no purpose. It is the emptiness that gives the form its meaning. It is the emptiness that is the form. “
