Selected Works

Mette Skjærbæk, founder of Karmameju Bioactive Skincare, creates herbarium works rooted in a close and sensory relationship with nature. Plants are collected over time from her surroundings and family garden on Fyn, then slowly dried between books and larger presses. 

The unpredictable drying process allows each specimen to retain its individual form and character. Through careful arrangement, the preserved plants become compositions where fragility and strength exist side by side. Each work exists as a singular composition, shaped by a moment in nature that cannot be recreated. 

Her works are exhibited and available exclusively at Galleri Sonja.
