Malte Frej Linnebjerg’s work exists in a nexus of contemporary art and traditional craftsmanship.
His practice is rooted in wood, handwork, and historical craft techniques, where visibility of tool and hand are a deliberate narrative in the work.  

Drawing inspiration from domestic craft, folk art, and rural culture, he explores how traditional craft practices can be brought into a modern context. 

Malte works across materials and methods, amongst wood and straw. He features both sculptural and functional objects, as well as larger spatial installations. Rather than following a fixed production or recurring series, he develops works in response to each individual context. 

Maltes is located in Ramløse, where he works and lives. He studied at the Funen Art Academy and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.
