We are delighted to present a creative collaboration between Galleri Sonja and Brücke 49, where Galleri Sonja will offer a curated selection of objects from Brücke 49, and vice versa.

Bornholm, like Vals, is a place of myth, history, stone, and water — a little removed from the rush of the world. Both places, in their stillness and strength, have a way of inspiring people to create things with meaning. On these two far apart places talented people are shaping beauty by hand — and we feel it’s time to begin sharing some of that.

The founders of Villa Sonja and Galleri Sonja; Birgit and Jimmy and Ruth Kramer the director of Brücke 49 have always been drawn to the things that carry a story. Over time, they’ve realized their desire to share them. Therefore, Ruth has selected a few pieces, Birgit and Jimmy others from their world, and together they are bringing these objects into conversation — letting their stories become part of a shared experience.

Every object, every detail, every gesture is a way of connecting people — to places, to craft, and to each other.
