Godt Bornholm

Godt Bornholm is a textile practice founded by Stine and Thomas on Bornholm, shaped by a transition from city life towards a slower and more attentive way of living and making. Working from their atelier in Svaneke, their practice brings together tailoring, textile design, and historical references through a material-led approach grounded in craftsmanship and lasting quality.

On the large handloom and through hand knitting, textiles develop through structure, rhythm, and colour. Inspired by the shifting landscapes, seasonal light, and historical traces of Bornholm, the work is rooted in material awareness and careful craftsmanship.

Local merino wool from sheep in the northwestern part of the island forms the basis of the knitted pieces. Often described as the wool equivalent of silk, the material is chosen for its softness, durability, and tactile quality. Handwoven textiles and signature knitwear are created with a focus on longevity, careful construction, and the sensory qualities of natural materials.
