BJØRN + WIHERHEIMO is a Copenhagen based design studio founded by Agnes Bjørn Elley and Asta Wiherheimo. Trained as furniture designers at the Royal Danish Academy, their collaborative practice explores the space between objects, interiors, and small-scale architecture. 

Their work begins with an interest in everyday rituals and the objects that give them meaning. Through an experimental approach rooted in the workshop, they explore familiar forms, considered proportions, and unexpected compositions, often allowing a sense of humour to enter the design. 

A close attention to how objects inhabits a space, runs throughout their practice. Their designs consider the relationship between function, atmosphere, and the gestures of everyday life, allowing familiar objects to take on new meaning through their presence and use. 

Their collaboration with Galleri Sonja reflects this approach, bringing together a shared appreciation for craftsmanship, sculptural form, and the intimate experience of light. Through the Sonja sconce, they explore how a familiar ritual can become an invitation to observe the movement of a flame and its changing reflections.
